What is a ligature logo? A ligature logo is any logo for any company, big or small, that has connected letters. Letters that are tied together make a compact logo that is distinct and specific for any company How would describe the corporate identity of ESMA in 5 words? Epic, Expressive, Creativity, Distinctive, Artistic Which logo out of the two do you feel is the strongest and why? I think my rounder logo that is also in yellow and orange is the strongest out of the two. I feel this way because it had a more modern feel be that the letters are stiff looking, but also a classic feel because it is a monogram. The letters are all connected to create a sense of unity but at the same time they stand out as their own, so it is clear as to what it says. If you had no requirements or restrictions how would your logo look different? Without restrictions, I would use more colors. With more colors, I could make the design have a different appeal by using a third color to outline all the letters, as well as using something like a gradient or a color for the negative space. Explain which ligature techniques you have demonstrated on each logo: For the rounder logo I used the technique of shared strokes. In doing this, the letters look like they’re attached. Due to the fact that they are the same height and width you don’t lose any part of the letter and because of that, you’re able to make out each letter. For the other logo, I used big curved strokes. In doing this, the font isn’t cursive but the logo still has that flare and appeal. The letters are all attached in one way, but not necessarily attached to the one next to it, like they are when you use a cursive font.
